Andres (Andy) Sanchez, 48, a resident of Los Alamos died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003.
He graduated from Los Alamos High School and later enlisted in the US Army in 1975. He briefly worked in construction, then pursued a career as a security officer at Los Alamos National Laboratory for 20 years. He was an avid skier and runner and loved the great outdoors. Andy was a very loving father, son and brother.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Pedro and Frutosa Sanchez; maternal grandparents, Felix and Aurora Fernandez and uncle, Leo Fernandez.
He is survived by his children, Mitzi Sanchez and significant other Errol Cohn of El Llano; Zach Sanchez of Los Alamos, Andrea Sanchez of Espanola, Anthony Sanchez of Espanola; parents, Dennis and Carol Sanchez of Los Alamos; brothers and sisters, Bobby and wife Isabel Sanchez of Cordova, LouAnn Gonzales and husband Albert of Los Alamos, Dwayne Sanchez and wife Reina and their children D.J. and Brenna all of Cordova, Marty Gonzales of Los Alamos and numerous aunts, uncles and many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A vigil service will be held today at 6 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with interment to follow at the Guaje Pines Cemetery.
